If you are like most clients you probably have several questions. Below are a few of the most common questions regarding stucco repair.
Are you licensed?
Yes, our house painting company has been licensed since 1980 by the state of California. Our license number is #916871.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, we carry full liability and workers compensation insurance and we are bonded.
Do you have references?
Yes, we have many references from satisfied customers. Please ask us.
You would like to know what does it cost for a professional to repair / patch stucco?
The cost of stucco repairs/ patching are based on the size of the area that needs repair, the location of the repair and the prep work required. We need to actually view the location in order to provide you an estimate.
Some pricing factors that we consider are whether scaffolding is required or based on the estimated quantity of material required will we need a stucco / plaster mixer or do we need to install new studs before we re-wrap the areas.
How long does it take from start to finish?
Most house stucco will be finished within a week, unless we are re-stuccoing the entire property and it is very large.
Can you match the existing color / surface of my stucco?
In most cases we can identify your exact stucco color. If you have years of fading, we may need to blend a special color to match.
Do you clean up the mess or do I?
You satisfaction is extremely important to us. We will clean up all areas and protect with plastic, drop clothes, masking paper and tape.
My home has never been painted. Should I re-stucco my home or paint?
If you re-stucco, you are restoring your home’s original look and feel. Plus, you can change the texture and color and repair and level areas and bond and fill cracks! Stucco is also a product that allows moisture to evaporate so that your home does not accumulate moisture that can cause mold spores as well as lead to a break down in your homes structure and integrity.
Painting is more common than a full re-stucco and is less expensive. Your choice should be based on the condition of your existing stucco. We will be happy to provide you an estimate for both and evaluate your current stucco.
Do you provide a guarantee for your work and the materials?
Yes, we do guarantee our work.
However Stucco is a type of exterior plaster applied as a two-or-three part coating directly onto masonry or applied over wood or metal lath or even to a wood frame structure. Stucco is found in many forms on historic structures throughout the United States. It is so common, in fact, that it frequently goes unnoticed, and is often disguised or used to imitate another material. Stucco is at the mercy of the elements, and even though it is a protective coating, it is particularly susceptible to water damage.
In most cases its repair should not be undertaken by a homeowner who is unfamiliar with the techniques of plastering. Successful stucco repair requires skill and the experience of a licensed contractor.
What are Pop Out?
Pop Out are made from Styrofoam and used to make those decorative exterior / interior raised and rounded looks that are very popular. The use of this material allows you to create most decorative looks and save money on labor.
How do I maintain my Stucco?
You should maintain your stucco by cleaning it periodically and looking for settling / earthquake crakes. You can use a standard garden hose with a decent nozzle should do the trick. If necessary, you can use a mild detergent and soft bristle brush.
Also, you should trim any trees or other plantation which may be hanging / touching directly any stucco surfaces. When rain or water from sprinklers hits such foliage this can cause staining your stucco finish, which can be extremely hard to remove.
If you do proper stucco maintenance it will certainly save your stucco finish from the harsh effects of nature in the future.
